Parents
We are proud of the family atmosphere at our school and we welcome
all parents and carers as a valuable part of that family.
Parent Volunteers at LMS
We are very grateful to all the parent volunteers who work so hard for the children each term. Parents help out by joining school trips, listening to readers and helping with the Y6 Youth Club.
Over the past three years thousands of pounds have been raised for the school in a variety of fun events. In 2008 the parents supported the school's new status as an Eco-School and purchased the new greenhouse which was then opened by the Mayor.
The Family Quiz Night in November 2008 raised nearly £500 with over 170 children, parents and staff attending. It was a fantastic evening with films for the children, the quiz for the parents and a raffle for everyone to enjoy. Over £150 was raised at Christmas with the sale of Christmas baubles. In the Spring Term 2009, the parents invested £1200 on playground artwork. The children love it!
The 'Global Village Open Day' on Saturday 27th June 2009 was a great success and raised nearly £1500 for the school. Opened by Fiona MacTaggart MP, the children were able to showcase their learning for parents and visitors in a most impressive way. Thank you for coming and for your very positive feedback on the day.
Parent-Teacher Association 2009-2010
We formed a new PTA called 'The Friends of the Langley Manor School' in September 2009. More details can be found on this website in the PTA section. All parents are encouraged to take part in the new PTA – new members are always welcome!
School Reports
We report to parents on children’s progress in a formal report sent home termly, but we also hold regular planned and ad hoc parents’ meetings to maintain a continuous dialogue between home and school. Our door is always open to any parent with a query or concern. We work at maintaining good relationships with parents through trust and communication.
Our parents feedback about our school speaks for itself:
“My son who is in reception loves school and readily engages in the rich extra-curricular activities available. He enjoys class work too and is becoming a very well-rounded and confident individual. When as a full-time working mum I also had to consider the extended day and holiday club option within a safe and homely environment, LMS came up tops too.”
