Langley Manor pupils swimming

We believe strongly that our school is part of the wider community, on a local and global scale. We are part of our community in Langley and have links with other schools, faith communities and services for the elderly. We are also part of the wider CfBT partnership of schools which we are helping to strengthen through sporting fixtures and educational partnerships.

As active citizens in these communities, the children and staff demonstrate each year their commitment to helping others. In 2010-2011, the school raised over £3000 for a number of different charities including Comic Relief, the Poppy Appeal, Children in Need, Every Child, the RSPCA, Macmillan Cancer Support. This year, the Harvest Festival provided local old people's homes with over 20 boxes of food.

Fundraising in 2010-2011

The Year 6 children raised £230 for The World Wildlife Fund in June 2010 through the sale of gifts and toys at their annual Craft Fair. There was a great turn-out and the children worked really hard on their projects.

Our school raised nearly £300 for the British Legion Poppy Appeal in November . The children were visited by a member of the Armed Forces who is stationed in Windsor who talked to them about the importance of the Poppy Day appeal and the role of the Remembrance Day services.

On Children in Need Day there was a sea of spots in school as everyone supported our 'Go Dotty ,wear Spotty 'appeal in aid of this worthwhile cause. We were able to donate in excess of £230.

Thank you to all of our children, staff and parents for making such a difference.
