Testimonials from Pupils

What do our Pupils think of their School?
With an active School Council and annual surveys of pupil
attitudes, we always listen to the 'pupil voice'. These
testimonials reflect the thoughts of some of our recent Year 6
leavers.
"I have been at The
Langley Manor School since I was 3 so when I started at my new
school in Year 7 I was scared because I was the only person in my
year group who didn't know anyone else there. But.. I settled in
immediately and made lots of new friends because I had been so
happy at The Langley Manor School and had gained so much
confidence there.
I am not very academic but my
favourite subject is history. I really enjoyed the lessons and love
learning about the past. I took so much of The Langley Manor
School with me when I left and loved my time here so much I
wanted to leave something of me at the school so I chose a new
history award. I hope that whoever gets it loves the school and
history as much as I did!"
William, a 2008 Year 6
Leaver who donated the Orford History Prize for future young
historians at Langley Manor.
"I have immensely
enjoyed school this year and I have appreciated the many events and
activities I have taken part in, including Carroty Wood, the French
Trip, the Arsenal Football Tournament and representing the county
and region in competitive swimming. I have loved the football,
rugby and cricket matches where I have met and mixed with other new
people from different schools. By having these experiences I have
become more confident in my abilities which I feel will help me in
my next school."
Hugh, a 2009 Year 6
Leaver.
"This year has
dramatically increased my independence, by having a post of
responsibility, playing in sport against other schools and
generally being relied upon to do tasks in school. It is a great
feeling. We visited Cadbury's World, Milestones Museum and Carroty
Wood and France still to come – endless delight! I
have achieved a lot in sport, getting into matches for rugby,
football, netball and cricket. It is also superb that we have moved
on to KS3 Maths! All these attributes will help me in
secondary school but I will miss this place!"
Joseph, a 2009 Year 6
Leaver
"This year has been outstanding. I have achieved
well in Maths and swimming and I have enjoyed my post of
responsibility. Carroty Wood was so much fun and I will miss going
there. I won a prize for my role as Ratty in Wind in the
Willows, the school play. I also won a second prize for all round
sports. I loved taking part in the CfBT Choir Festival in
Dulwich. I have loved being Sports Captain and will miss all my
friends. Langley Manor has given me courage in all my main subjects
and I will miss all of this!"
Georgina, a 2009 Year 6 Leaver
"I have thoroughly enjoyed this year and I have
increased in independence by being chosen to take part in sports
matches, being a librarian and by being chairman of the
School Council. I am delighted with achieving two awards and
passing the 11+ this year. Although I love The Langley Manor
School, I can't wait to move on to Langley Grammar
School!"
