School Vision and Values

Our Vision

We believe it is our duty to instil in the children the qualities, values, knowledge and skills  to enable them to aspire to and achieve their goals in life. We aim for an education that will set our children apart. Our philosophy is to educate ‘the whole child’ not only academically but also socially, creatively, morally, physically and culturally.

Children are treated as individuals with their own needs being met in all aspects of school life. Class sizes are on average 20 pupils or below. Learning Support Assistants are assigned to children or small groups where appropriate. Termly prize-giving ceremonies celebrate the children’s achievements in all areas of school life including social, creative and academic learning.

A child who learns a musical instrument to a high standard or takes part in county or national competitions displays self-discipline, commitment to excellence, and dedication – all qualities that will prove beneficial to them and others in the future.

Our Values

Our school is based on Christian principles with all children taking part both in our acts of worship and in non-denominational religious education classes. We welcome children and families from all backgrounds, cultures and faiths and see our diversity as a key strength of the school.

The school’s motto, ‘Non Progredi est Regredi’, means ‘not to go forward is to go backwards’. It is our aim that all children at our school will be motivated, enquiring and enthusiastic to learn and achieve, gaining the skills required to lead a full and purposeful role in the wider community.

Our school policies cover the areas of equal opportunities, anti-racism, positive behaviour and inclusion. All new parents receive details of these policies in their welcome pack. If you would like specific information about these please contact us.
