Parents

We are proud of the family atmosphere at our school and we welcome all parents and carers as a valuable part of that family. We have an ‘open door’ policy and encourage parents to share their thoughts and ideas and to become involved fully in the life of the school. We aim to maintain clear lines of communication with parents through the weekly newsletter, homework diaries, emails and text communications along with meetings, both formal and informal.

Parent Volunteers at The Langley Manor Preparatory School

We are very grateful to all the parent volunteers who work so hard for the children each term. Parents help out by joining school trips, listening to readers and helping with the Year 6 Youth Club.

Over the past three years thousands of pounds have been raised for the school in a variety of fun events.Events such as Family Quiz Nights, Discos, Yellow Moon catalogue sales and producing Christmas cards designed by the children, have raised substantial funds for our school. A new play trail was constructed for the children in 2010 and this year new wall bars were installed in the hall which were paid for by the PTA.

We are proud of the family atmosphere at our school and we welcome all parents and carers as a valuable part of that family.

Our 'Celebration' Open Day this year was opened by Professor Heinz Wolff an eminent scientist and creator of the Great Egg Race. The children were amazed when he exploded two mince pies to demonstrate atomic theory!

Parent Teacher Association and Parent Council

A PTA called 'The Friends of the Langley Manor Preparatory School' (FOLMPS) was founded in September 2009. More details can be found on this website in the FOLMPS section. All parents are encouraged to take part in the new PTA – new members are always welcome!

In 2011 the Parent Council was created to act as an advisory and consultancy body, representing the views of parents on a range of strategic issues in consultations between the Leadership Team of the school and CfBT Education Trust.
